« My work is a perpetual questioning of the playful function of art and the space of creation. »

Barbara Christol is a French artist whose founding medium is drawing. Trained in Fine Arts and a graduate of the Sorbonne, she developed the concept of the “transitional labyrinth,” an approach to gesture as an intimate revelation. Inspired by Kandinsky, Klee, and Vasarely, she composes sensitive geometries that transform into landscapes, architecture, or constellations. Her practice combines drawing, painting, and ephemeral textile installations using wool yarn—her signature material. Present in numerous private collections, she exhibits regularly in France and internationally, weaving a universe like a thought in motion where craftsmanship and contemporaneity intertwine. Halfway between the patience of Penelope and the myth of Ariadne, Barbara Christol offers an expressive cartography of possible worlds.
