Barbara Thalia Schneeweis is an Austrian painter and textile artist trained at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and the University of Applied Arts Vienna. Influenced by Emil Nolde, Sonia and Robert Delaunay, and the expressive freedom of Action Painting, she developed a powerful, color-intensive visual language. Following her receipt of the Austrian State Prize for Art and Design (1993), she created, among other works, her velvet paintings; today she primarily dedicates herself to expressive landscapes. At the heart of her work are light, color, love, and the interconnectedness of all life. Her contemporary painting understands art as an emotional force that makes beauty tangible, opens hearts, and awakens hope. With luminous colors and dynamic compositions, Barbara Thalia Schneeweis invites viewers to rediscover the grandeur of creation, the power of nature, and the joy of life.
