« I dwell on the beauty of the paint, in my practice, I strategized a balancing act between meticulous attention to detail and playful openness to unsuspected outcomes. »

Ben Boothby is an American artist whose paintings have been exhibited nationally and in Germany. His art explores concepts relating to memory, including the visual nature of how memories look in our minds, as well as the "complex and contradictory puzzle" that builds up in layers over time. Boothby's interest in architecture fuses with the fact that our spatial memory is the strongest, which translates into the notion that certain places from our past form who we are.
