Brian Smyth is an Irish painter who has widely exhibited nationally, as well as in England and Italy. His art observes and responds to people and places, offering images that most often suggest a story or narrative. Identifying with a realist artistic style, Smyth also finds beauty in unusual places, especially within cities. He creates using the impasto technique against thinner paint, where forms overlap.
