Bruno W. Tomei, born in Schefferville and now living in Granby, is a self-taught artist who benefited from three years of professional mentorship. His career is distinguished by exhibitions in two Quebec museums, six years at the Galerie Guy Bourget in Old Montreal, and participation in the Mamu Symposium in Sept-Îles alongside First Nations artists. His work explores a profound dialogue with the animal world, totem poles, and the northern environment. He creates sculptures and paintings using driftwood, recycled metal, reclaimed fabrics, and mixed media. Through his creations, he seeks to reconnect the public with nature and animal wisdom. Committed to his community, Bruno participates in fundraising and makes his art accessible through donations and prints. His sensitive style, imbued with tribal symbolism, reflects the influence of Indigenous cultures and gives rise to powerful and spiritual works.
