Carla Sumarlidson is an international award-winning artist, born in the heart of Vancouver, Canada. Her work reflects well-known cityscapes and her own personal experiences. Sumarlidson’s goal is to translate hardship and grief into resolve and transformation in her paintings while also remaining fluid and tactile. This is evident in the artist’s use of vivid colours with contrasting black and white imagery. She uses the “language of neon-romance” and wild urban energy to tell a compelling story.
