CAT BAKKER is a contemporary artist with Dutch roots and Swiss influences.
Born and raised in Switzerland, she now lives and works in the south of France, in the Haut-Languedoc, in a former train station.
She initially developed her artistic career autodidactically, supplemented by courses at universities including Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts. For more than ten years, she was mentored by her artist and graphic designer Max Willi Janananda (deceased) – a formative period that had a lasting impact on her style.
She creates spaces full of light and depth that make powerful, quiet emotions as well as the beauty and infinity of nature and humanity tangible in the hearts of the viewer, leaving plenty of room for one's own interpretation.
