Claire Smith's paintings embody moments of tranquility and stillness. The UK-based artist's works also explore seasons, light, change, the interaction between light and structures, both natural and man-made. Smith's artistic method begins by photographing elements in her surroundings that intrigue her. She then works back and forth between digital and physical sketching, before incorporating her painting process which draws out and refines these images.
