David Komander is an experienced German painter and printmaker who has exhibited his work internationally, including in France, Switzerland and Portugal. Though his paintings look like modern impressionist landscapes at first, Komander's approach is in fact expressionist.
In contrast to more impulsive approaches, his colour compositions are closely controlled. Komander ultimately seeks for his works to appear harmonious, soothing and classically beautiful despite their expressive quality.
