David Uclés, a self-taught painter, has explored the use of oil pastels on wood since childhood, fascinated by direct experimentation and the purity of the uncorrected stroke. His portraits, filled with voids and visual silences, are characterized by a technique in which white is the protagonist and each line is definitive. Through his art, he conveys a profound sense of introspection, stripping the figure of the superfluous to invite the viewer into a space of reflection and almost meditative contemplation.
