Elena Zelfe

Elena Zelfe’s artistic foundation developed through independent study, private lessons with established artists, and extensive practice in still life, exploring form, proportion, light, shadow, and composition.

After moving to the United States, she continued her education through drawing and painting classes at a community college, earning a Certificate of Achievement in Painting in Cupertino, California. She later studied for several years at the Modern Art School, an online art school led by artist Elena Shmakova.

Today, her practice focuses on landscapes and seascapes, with particular attention to light, color, texture, and the atmosphere of a place. Her work is grounded in observation while allowing room for experimentation and exploration of other subjects connected to the natural world.
