Eric Ravilious

Eric Ravilious, a British artist with roots in Sussex, specialized in watercolors and is renowned for his eloquent book illustrations and wood engravings. His technique married the traditional English landscape to a modernist eye, delivering an unorthodox perspective rich in detail and design. Ravilious's works resonate with a nostalgic serenity, often tinged with an undercurrent of the sobering reality of war.
