Erick Brochet

Currently living in France, in the Aquitaine region. I was born in Dakar, Senegal and lived the first twenty-five years of my life in various West African countries.
From a very young age I was drawn to graphic arts. I was already drawing intensely at the age of nine my "Picassos", my readings focused avidly on the history of painting, I explored the intricacies of Impressionism, Cubism and more particularly Surrealism.
By the age of thirteen, I was intimately familiar with the painters of these artistic movements; Pablo Picasso and Salvador Dalí became my artistic idols, my sources of inspiration. Later, I would discover exceptional artists like Siudmak and Vasarely.
Driven from the very beginning by a thirst for discovery, I explore every possible technique, material, and medium. This is how I developed a unique technique—fluorescent oil painting illuminated by LEDs—over the past twenty years. All in the name of creating dreams.
