« Art is a concept by which we measure our peace. »
Etsuko Aiba is a Japanese artist whose paintings have been exhibited in Japan and China. The central theme in her art is the exploration of intricate patterns of "wave energy" found in nature, on the surface of the water, the desert, tree rings, etc. Aiba employs traditional organic materials in her artistic process which includes paper, mineral pigments (especially soil pigments from all over the world), and gold leaf, combined with the classic Japanese painting technique, 'momi-gami' (means squeezed paper.
