Fabio Marinho is a Brazilian contemporary painter based in Fargo, North Dakota. His practice moves between figuration and abstraction, exploring perception, identity, transformation, and time.
His recent series, Emerging Coherence, investigates what remains when familiar structures of perception begin to dissolve. Through layered surfaces and shifting forms, the work moves between presence and disappearance, combining psychological tension with physical materiality.
Marinho works with acrylic, oil, earth, sand, charcoal, cold wax, marble powder, and gold leaf, increasingly developing large-format works and projects conceived in relation to specific spaces.
Portraiture and commissioned painting were important earlier parts of his practice, but his current focus is a cohesive contemporary body of work shaped by his own conceptual and material language.
His work has been exhibited in Brazil, Italy, and the United States and is held in private collections across 12 countries.
