George Antoni is a British abstract painter presently based in Brighton. Studying art at West Ham College of Further Education, he also shared an interest in drama, leading to a thirty year career in film, TV and theatre. He now dedicates his time to his artistry.
The South English Coast as Inspiration
Moving to Brighton initially inspired the dramatic seascapes and boundless skies of Antoni’s work. He is constantly adapting and evolving his artistic focus. Although his artistic focus is evolving, the influence of coastal life is still prevalent in his work and continues to be a base for ventures outside of his traditional landscape explorations.
Antoni first expresses the visual imagery in his unconscious. He begins his process with a loose intention of his desired finished piece, evolving it repeatedly whilst drawing on his multiple inspirations. He alleviates full control and submits to spontaneity, balancing both chaos and order. This results in viewer creating their own interpretation.
George Antoni is a veteran, experienced artist, participating in numerous British shows including the Affordable Art Fair, Battersea; Edinburgh Art Fair and at the Menier Gallery, London. He is poised to further establish his national and international standing.
