Gijs van Noort is an award-winning Dutch artist whose paintings have been exhibited both nationally and in Belgium. He describes his work as an "inquiry into the narrative possibilities of paint". While the narrative aspects of Van Noort's composition imply figuration, it is not concerned with realism. Rather, it conveys associations. Creating in the romantic tradition, one of the main themes in his art is garbage and the passage of time.
