« My aim is to strip the idea of the seascape down to its bare essentials. To recognize what interests me and to capture it in a new and unique way. »
Harriet Hue is an artist who lives and works on the Isle of Wight (a U.K. island located south of the mainland) and is heavily influenced by coastal views. Consequently, water and blue skies are consistent themes in her paintings. Hue's pieces embody a sense of calm as well as solitude. She creates using oils with thick and bold brushstrokes, leaving a textured finish.
