Hortense Garand
France
« To paint is to reveal, to make emptiness exist, to give shape to feelings, to grasp the light. »
Garand became enamoured with oil painting at age 15 after her grandfather gifted her his paint set. As energized by life and human emotion as she is by the intricate techniques of her chosen medium, her vibrant abstract pieces are created with dedicated artistic precision and powerful purity of passion.
