Isabel Turban is an experienced abstract painter living in New York originally from Uruguay. Having grown up between both Uruguay and Argentina, Turban finds inspiration from the nostalgia of past travel experiences and the ever present subject of immigration. She works in layers transferring images of maps onto the canvas and then painting above them in gestural strokes of acrylic and traces of charcoal and ink.
