Jake Nordstrum is an artist based in the United States whose paintings have been exhibited nationally. He cites the anti-establishment and counter-culture mentality of his punk-rock youth as having an influence on his artistic practice. However, now this anti-establishment mindset is geared towards the art world in general. Nordstrum describes his bold abstractions as being "raw, unfinished, and sloppy", which he finds ironic since he studied realistic portraiture in school.
