Jessica Matier is an established American painter who has widely exhibited her work nationally. Taking a mixed media approach to abstraction, she composes gestural emotive landscapes and forms intended to create a hyper-conscious experience. Matier's practice explores mankind’s relationship towards nature and society, the preordinance of human existence versus free will, and the knowledge of wisdom in man. These ideas come to life through bold brush strokes, clever use of space and an overall visual impression of movement and impact.
