Australian artist Jessica Watt's work's explore gender clichés turning them into something positive and empowering. The women portrayed in Watt's works aren't mere wallflowers, they are strongly solo, self-possessed, deeply immersed in nature and joyfully present. Watt's draws inspiration from her collection of vintage wallpapers to create highly colorful, textured and tactile works where the subject emerges for the background rather than sink into it.
