German painter Joseas R. Helmes, born 1963 in Dusseldorf, studied at the National Academy of Arts in Dusseldorf in 1983. In 1985, he moved to Berlin, where he worked as a freelance artist and studied at the Institute for Art in Context at the College of Arts in 1995. Today he lives in a studio house in Brandenburg, where he creates his large format landscapes and portraits on canvas.
