Joshua Daniels is a contemporary British artist whose works are characterized by depictions of animals, juxtaposition, and often humorous commentary. Daniels finds inspiration in the forms, textures, and colors of the natural world and has been heavily influenced by his father, a geologist who kept exotic animals, reptiles and fish. Working with a variety of media, Daniels’ works are particularly distinctive in their sparsely filled landscapes; blocks of color and raw canvas are used to provoke thought through that which is alluded to, but left undefined.
