Joshua Meyer

Joshua Meyer, a Yale-educated artist who specializes in oil portrayals of people, infuses his robust, searching canvases with the textured vestiges of Giacometti and Rembrandt. He masterfully manipulates paint in a dynamic, almost elusive game of hide-and-seek with his subjects, creating figures that simultaneously emerge and dissolve into his thick, impasto layers. Meyer's works stir the soul, exuding a profound introspection that graciously invites the viewer into the private universes of his subjects.
