Jules Atarax is an artist based in Belgium whose paintings have been featured in solo exhibitions nationally. Describing his distinctive style as being situated between art brut and expressionism, Atarax creates what he refers to as "hallucinated portraits". In these works, he reveals what lies hidden under the human mask. His bold compositions are most often created with acrylics and oils on canvas or linen.
