The figures and faces in Juniper Briggs’ paintings merge a powerful outward stare with the ‘wildness of emotion within’. Each of her compositions is an interplay between linework, colors, layers, shapes, and textures. Briggs incorporates stylistic themes derived from classical traditions, folk art, as well as her experiences as a woman, into her works. She creates quickly using several layers of acrylics, adding and omitting details that generate compelling pieces.
