« Color and light are my kryptonite. I love to explore new expressions and inorporate them into my art. »
For me, color is not just a medium, but my most important creative tool. A subtle coordination of the interplaying color fields is essential. It's about color harmony as much as contrasts and emotions. A predominantly glazing technique creates a unique depth in the overlapping layers. Contrasts emerge and dissolve again. Paint is applied and rubbed off until the desired result is achieved.
Some of my work can probably best be described as minimalist landscape painting. In this field, I am constantly searching for the boundary between representation and abstraction. When is a landscape still recognizable as such, and when does it dissolve into a pure color field composition? I explore this boundary.
