Lawrence Philip is an experienced American painter who has consistently exhibited his work throughout the United States since the 1970s. Working in a non-representational manner, he layers his paintings with disparate elements and endows each surface with a tactile, textural quality. Having worked extensively with cardboard and assemblage, he develops bodies of work which deal with shape, color, layering, cut-out relief elements, and collage.
