Lezley Saar

Lezley Saar, a painter of African American heritage, crafts intricate mixed media art that reflects on race and female identity. Her technique blends magical realism with ancestral motifs, traversing both western and non-western aesthetics to challenge perceptions of beauty and self. Saar's pieces evoke a sense of wonder and introspection, often piercing the veil between the spiritual and the mundane.
