Mahela Natali-Haab

Mahela Natali-Haab is a Zürich-based, self-taught painter working intuitively at the intersection of naïve and expressionist styles. Her work embraces whimsy, emotional spontaneity, and thoughtful reflection on life and human connection. Inspired by vibrant colors, weathered surfaces, and art of ancient civilizations, she creates tactile paintings using acrylics paint, self-made rock pigments, titanium white powder, pastel, and charcoal. The sandy textures in her work recall her childhood in Jordan, where she spent joyful days on sand dunes and sandstone landscapes. Her paintings express curiosity and optimism, shaped by exploration, mistakes she fully embraces, and meaningful encounters with others.
