There are layers beneath the surface that add texture and depth, stories of places I have visited. It’s painted on a synthetic fleece which previously had a photo printed on it, stretched over a silver metal support frame which can be assembled easily.…
The final image came together around the idea of movement—shapes that sail through wind and space. It gives the painting a sense of travel and flow without being too literal. Overall, it’s a piece that brings energy into a room while still leaving space for your own interpretation.

Mahela Natali-Haab is a Zürich-based, self-taught painter working intuitively at the intersection of naïve and expressionist styles.
