Manuel Laval

Manuel Laval is a self-taught photographer who turned to photography after a career in sound design and film. Using digital photography and creative post-processing, he creates surreal, humorous visual worlds inspired by Surrealism and Dadaism. His improvised techniques break with clichés of nude photography and invite viewers to question their own notions of the body, eroticism, and censorship. His work conveys curiosity and playfulness, and, with respectful provocation, encourages reflection on our visual habits and societal taboos.
