« I paint for the excitement of discovery, to see how things emerge, with or without control. The painting always has its own life, and I enjoy the mystery in that. »
Mariana Edinger is an artist based in Brazil whose works have been exhibited both nationally and in the United States. She cites expressionistic figures of women as being the central focus of her art. Edinger is fascinated by the characteristics and myths of female imagery in culture and society. Her characters are abstracted, creating numerous imaginary narratives and identities for her subjects. She favors oils on canvas.
