Marie Amédro

Marie Amédro is a French-based artist whose paintings have been exhibited both nationally and internationally. The gradual and evolving development of her work is a key aspect reflected in each of her series. Behind the clarity and minimalism of the compositions, the viewer can also perceive a manipulation of materials that unsettles fixed points of reference. This impression is reinforced by the fragmentary structure of the works. Upon closer inspection, different layers and textures are revealed. In late 2025, a reflection on "the present moment" led Marie to rethink her approach to working and composing her pieces. Ultimately, writing seemed to her to be the concept closest to her definition of the present moment. For her, writing is intimate, spontaneous, continuous, and anchored in time. Thus, she developed a new series whose compositions illustrate the notion of movement.
