Marie Saada

Marie Saada is an artist and life drawing teacher. She is the creator of the Life Drawing Festival, which takes place every year in Paris. A graduate of ENSBAPC, she draws, paints, and writes to make visible the connections between these different mediums.


Drawing is experiencing the sacred nature of
existence.
The models who posed for me gave me access to their authenticity, their inner lives, their vital energy, and I thank them for that. What I captured from them, or what they gave me, now exists on large sheets of paper. These are large formats traversed by lines of life, obscure traces that gradually organize themselves to "speak of life."

For me, experiencing life drawing is not an exercise in anatomical virtuosity, it is a search for inner truth.
The exhibited work is the materialization of an in-between state, somewhere between the perception of
the artist and the authenticity of the model.
