Marisabel Gonzalez is a prizewinning Australian painter with international exposure. Her work references ultrasound imagery, laboratory pathological slides, and diagrams. Her paintings begin as sketches based on the shapes and compositions she sees on various medical machines which are then turned into paintings through a careful layering technique. Through her paintings, Gonzalez endeavors try to capture the varying emotions her patients experience, from fear to joy and everything in between.
