Mariya Paunova is a Bulgarian artist and a graduate of the School of Applied Arts in Tryavna. Her bold and expressive paintings are usually made in the abstract style though feature a touch of impressionism. Paunova paints everything from landscapes, city-scapes, portraits and figure studies. Her painters evoke warmth and empathy, and endeavor to tell the viewer a story.
