Mark Maritato is an experienced American painter whose works have been held in exhibitions and national public collections across the US. Fascinated by historical subject matter from a young age, he primarily depicts scenes from the American Civil War— from the battles and uniforms to the mud and sky— in impressive detail and to immersive effect. Maritato also composes landscape works that capture calming scenes of nature and animals in serene sunlight.
