Marlene Tyroller

Marlene Tyroller, originally a graphic designer, uses acrylic paints, pigments, oil pastels, charcoal and other materials. Her style is characterized by subtle colors, light, movement and a spontaneous brushwork that allows the colors to flow in transparent, sometimes opaque layers. Strong lines run through the large format as she reacts playfully and spontaneously to emerging impulses. Her artworks convey intense feelings of freedom, questioning what role boundaries play in perceiving freedom.
