Mat Elbé is a French artist whose paintings have been exhibited in both France and Germany. He describes his creative process as being primarily concerned with the "pleasure of mixing light and color". Elbé employs a technical approach based on the use of stencils, which he makes himself by hand, based on his own photographs or images of pop icons.
His most simplistic stencils have four to five layers of colors, whereas the most complex can mount to twenty.
