Matjaz Preseren
Slovenia
Matjaz Preseren, a Slovenian photographer and digital artist trained in Venice, works primarily with photography, both analog and digital, and integrates staged imagery and digital manipulation. He draws inspiration from surrealist painters like Dalí and Magritte, employing meticulous stagecraft, slide projection, and Photoshop to create striking post-surrealist compositions. His works, from the surreal “Fadeaway Reality” to evocative “Venetian Stories,” blend illusion and reality, conveying a profound reverence for human nature, freedom, and self-respect, inviting viewers to embrace the depth and complexity within themselves.
