Matthias Barth

Matthias Barth photographs using a mix of analogue and digital techniques to open up new perspectives that challenge our relationship to reality. He explores the natural world, man-made metropolises and the convergence of both, the beauty in everyday surfaces. Using people, landscapes and objects, he explores the often surreal imagery of our contemporary lives. His experimental practice ranges from portraiture to drone photography, masterfully manipulating light and composition so that his photographs can transcend the boundaries of language, culture and society. By allowing his processes to morph and change to meet the needs of his subjects, a universal meaning is revealed.
