Matvey Levenstein

Matvey Levenstein works primarily with oil on copper, wood, and linen, as well as sumi ink on paper, drawing from her Russian-American background. She masterfully blends techniques from European painting traditions with influences from avant-garde cinema, creating landscapes and still lifes that are both contemplative and enigmatic. Her artworks evoke a sense of quiet introspection, inviting viewers to reflect on history, memory, and the elusive nature of representation.
