« I do not participate in political life, but current events clearly influence the choice of my titles since I express my protest against the obvious abuse of power. »
Max Smolov is an artist based in Russia whose paintings have been exhibited in Brazil, Belgium, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom. He cites intuition as being the central engine of this artistic practice, which allows him to capture distinctive shapes, colors, and textures. Smolov's bold compositions are most often created with oils on canvas, ink on paper, or collages and assemblages with varying materials.
