A self-taught polymath, Michael Malicoat expresses himself through painting, photography, and sculpture. His art also extends into 30 years as a performing musician. He also holds the distinction of being a master woodworker and cabinetmaker. He is a black belt martial artist and pilot. His versatile painting style embraces the concept of alla prima, reflecting his bipolar nature and evolving vision in his fluid artistic approach. Malicoat's art radiates his resilient optimism, unearthing sublime beauty from both the meteoric heights and melancholic depths of his bi-polar vision, gently guiding viewers towards an empathetic insight into understanding his art .
