Olaf Hajek is a painter and draftsman based in Germany whose works have been exhibited nationally and in South Africa. Through his artistic practice, he endeavors to "decompose the borders between authenticity and thought". Hajek's distinctive pieces are imbued with symbols and themes relating to South American and African folklore, mythology, religion, history, and geography. In addition, his compositions are reflective of heroic acts, wonderment, hallucinations, and fairy tale motifs.
