Othilia Middendorf
Germany
For Othilia Middendorf, painting is her emotional language. Her connection to art began in infancy through her grandmother, who worked in a museum. Since she could hold a pencil, painting has been a near-daily part of her life.
Today she works as a freelance artist specializing in abstract acrylic painting. Her works begin as inner visions and develop intuitively in her studio. Music, movement, multi-layered applications of paint, and diverse techniques characterize her creative process.
Particularly characteristic is the transformation of emotions: her most colorful, powerful and life-affirming works are often created precisely during difficult phases.
Her images offer no interpretation. They invite the viewer to linger, to immerse themselves in their own imagination, and to discover personal memories.
"Painting is my language of emotions. My art should touch people, convey positive energy and make them happy."
