Padmanabh Bendre

I am Padmanabh Bendre, a Mumbai-based contemporary artist exploring the relationship between emotion, memory, and the visual moment. Trained as an architect and town planner, my background informs a strong sensitivity to space, structure, balance, and light.

Working as a full-time artist since 1990, my practice spans landscapes, cityscapes, and abstract compositions. Rather than focusing on representation, my work reflects a meditative search for truth—seeking to capture fleeting moments that feel intimate, personal, and timeless.

My paintings are meant to be experienced rather than interpreted, inviting viewers to form their own emotional and introspective connection. For me, painting is a journey without a fixed destination. Each canvas begins with a question and evolves through experimentation with medium, form, and expression, balancing architectural discipline with intuitive freedom.
